- Real-world, on-the-job training
- Industry-recognised qualifications
- Mentorship from experienced professionals
- Opportunities for career progression
- Earning while learning
At Westwood Projects, our apprentices work across specialist areas including mezzanine floors, refurbishment projects, and drylining systems. We are committed to ensuring every apprentice gains valuable experience in areas they are passionate about and can build a sustainable future career around.
With demand for skilled construction workers rising, apprenticeships provide a stable and future-proof career pathway.
Apprentice Spotlight: Bobby Price – Drylining Apprentice (Year 2)
One of our dedicated team members is Bobby Price, currently in Year 2 of his Drylining Apprenticeship.
Since starting his apprenticeship with Westwood Projects and studying at City of Portsmouth College, Bobby has embraced the opportunity to develop both his practical skills on-site and his technical knowledge in college.
His training has covered essential drylining techniques, including taping and jointing, which first sparked his interest in the trade.
Bobby has gained hands-on experience working within active construction environments, learning the standards, accuracy, and professionalism required in modern drylining and interior systems installation. Through structured support and mentorship, he has built a strong foundation of trade knowledge that will support his long-term career development
In Bobby’s own words:
“I am happy with my decision to do an apprenticeship as it has allowed me to gain more knowledge and information about my trade and given me the skills I need going forward.”
Stories like Bobby’s highlight why apprenticeships in construction are such a valuable alternative to traditional academic routes. Apprentices develop job-ready skills while working towards nationally recognised qualifications — all while earning.
